Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Namaste and welcome to Delhi, India’s national capital and northern gateway. Receive a warm welcome on arrival at Delhi airport by our representatives and transfer to hotel. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to relax at the hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Delhi to Amritsar
After breakfast, complete check-out formalities as you’ll be driven to Amritsar in the afternoon. Meanwhile, enjoy a guided half-day tour of India’s incredible capital, Delhi. Drive past Red Fort, Raj Ghat, India Gate, Parliament House, Qutub Minar & Humanyun’s Tomb. This afternoon, transfer to Amritsar after lunch. This on-road journey is of 8 hours (approximate). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 3: Amritsar Sightseeing
Today is scheduled for full day sightseeing tour of Amritsar city. After breakfast, leave your hotel to visit the Golden Temple first. Here, you’ll get a chance to learn about the spiritual, devotional and historical traditions of Sikh community in India. Later, explore other highlights of Amritsar city, including Jallianwala Bagh, and Wagah Border in the evening to be a part of beating retreat ceremony. Afterward, return back to your hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 4: Amritsar to Dharamsala
This morning, depart Amritsar for Dharamsala after breakfast. Cover this 205 km on-road journey to reach the spiritual hill town of Dharamsala. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the hotel. Relax for some time, and then get ready to experience the peace. Continue to visit Dalai Lama’s Temple, Bhagsu Nag waterfalls and nearby shiv temple. Later, walk around the market in the evening. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Dharamsala - Foothills of Tranquility
After breakfast, proceed for morning visit to Norbulingka Institute, famous for preserving traditional Tibetan arts and crafts. Also visit Kangra Art Museum to see the Tibetan artisans and their art work. Next, move to ‘The Tibetan Institute of the Performing Arts’ after lunch. Founded by His Holiness the 14th Dalali Lama in 1959, the institute is famous for preserving traditional Tibetan art forms in music, dance and theatre. Step inside the complex to see some of the finest thangka frescoes. Later, return back to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 6: Dharamsala to Manali
This morning, you’ll be transferred Manali. Besides being famous for its 4000m high Rohtang Pass, Manali is a gateway to witness spectacular view of the verdant valley full of apple orchards, exciting adventurous activities and blissful spiritual experiences. This journey is of approximate seven to eight hours. On your way to Manali, soak up some beautiful views of snow-crowned Himalayan hills, and meanwhile stop some time to have lunch. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Manali – Visit the Last Home of Nicholas Roerich’s
Have your breakfast on time, and then get ready to explore attractions of India’s famous hill station, Manali. Start with Naggar Village, home to the Russian artist and philosopher, Nicholas Roerich’s, from 1928 until his death in 1947. Explore the Nagar Castle, Nicolas Roerich Art Gallery and the museum at the Roerich Estate. Stop your tour for some time to have lunch. Later, move to explore the spiritual side of Manali by visiting Vashist sulphur spring followed by Hidimba temple visit. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8: Manali – Spend Some Leisure
Today, full-day is at leisure. Set away from the town’s bustle and blending with the natural hillside surroundings, today is the perfect time to spend some leisure time in the beautiful setting of your hotel. After eating your breakfast, if you wish to explore the city, then ask your tour representative/ guide to plan an option visit to Solan Valley, Kothi, Manikaran at an extra cost. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9: Manali to Shimla
Today’s transfer takes around seven to eight hours but is a wonderful opportunity to soak up the beauty of this region. On your way to Shimla, enjoy views of the snow-crowned Himalayan hills and green grasses surrounding the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. En-route, stops for some time to have your lunch, and then again continue to drive back. Traffic is banned from the central part of town, walking is the way of life here. On arrival, you’ll be directly transferred to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 10: Shimla
After breakfast, leave your hotel for full day guided tour of Shimla to explore city’s highlights. Start today’s excursion by first visiting The Ridge to witness jagged line of distant snowy peaks of mighty Himalayas. Later, move to Viceregal Lodge followed by a visit to the state museum. After lunch, continue you tour to see Jhaku Temple, Shimla’s most famous temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman. In the evening, it’s time to stroll across the heartbeat of Shimla life, The Mall. Later, return back to your hotel for dinner & Overnight stay.
Day 11: Shimla- A Trip to Kufri
After breakfast at leisure, get ready for today’s excursion- a trip to Kufri. Nestled in the lap of Great Himalayas ranges, Kufri is the small hill station located 19 km from Shimla. Popular for its hiking and skiing trails in Himachal Pradesh, Kufri is at its natural best during winters. Skiing and tobogganing can be enjoyed along snow-capped slopes. On arrival, witness panoramic views of the stunning mountains ranges of mighty Himalayas. Explore the market area and have lunch before returning back to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for optional activities. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Shimla to Chandigarh
After early morning breakfast, check-out from your hotel to set for an exciting on-road journey to cover 120 km (approx. 4 hours) from Shimla to Chandigarh. Upon arrival, you’ll be directly transferred to the hotel. Rest for some time, and then continue to visit Rock Garden- star highlight of Chandigarh. Spread over an area of 40 acres, Nek Chand's Rock Garden is a sculpture garden. It is the live example of a rabbit hole into the labyrinthine interior of one man’s imagination. See its 2000 sculptures made by his founder Nek Chand. Afterward, return back to your hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
Day 13: Chandigarh to Delhi for Departure
This morning, depart Chandigarh for Delhi on road. So, have your breakfast on time, and complete check-out formalities to reach the last destination of this ‘Connect with Himalayas’ tour. On Delhi arrival, you’ll either transfer to the Delhi airport or you’ll explore the highlights of capital city of India, depending upon the availability of flights for departure to your home. If you have time, your guide will take you Delhi sightseeing tour that includes Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, and Raj Ghat.
